Scared by the news?

It was very interesting to read "Scared by the news? Take the long view: Progress gets overlooked" because it makes me realise that what we see, hear or read in the news most of the time has a tragic tint and does not allow us to become aware of the positive perspective that piece of news may have or more general the advances humanity has achieved.
